Our first week at home

Our first week having Jack home was fun but tiresome. Tyler was still trying to get the hang of changing diapers without drenching himself and everything else in urine. I've been washing walls, blankets, carpet, and so on about 10 times a day. I think I need to invest in a "pee-pee tee-pee." Or maybe waterproof furniture. Anyways, thanks to all the family and friends who stopped by! It made our first week much more enjoyable.

Naming "baby boy"

Naming Jack was probably the most stressful experience of the whole pregnancy-birthing process. Ok, maybe a close second. But the story of how we got Jack's name is cute, so I thought I would share: During my last trimester I substitute taught a couple days a week. One day I got called to teach 3rd grade, and it was a crazy experience. One little boy in the class named Cody was autistic and very rambunctious. He couldn't communicate very well and wasn't interested at all in learning so i let him sit in the back of the classroom and play (aka make explosive sounds). Anyways, during the math lesson, he stopped what he was doing, walked up to me and threw his arms around my belly. "Hi baby Jack!" he said, rubbing and kissing my belly, "can't wait for you to come!" I hadn't heard Cody say one word to me all day. "Baby Jack?" i said probably looking confused. "yes, baby Jack!" he said pointing to my belly. And Baby Jack its been ever since....well, kind of. it took some convincing for Tyler but by the 5th day of our hospital stay, baby Jack it was!
