Usually when you wake me up at one in the morning, I'm not too thrilled.
But this morning was different. Because you just needed some
lovin'. So I held you, and rocked you, and sang what grandma JoAnn
used to sing to me when I was little:

"You are my sunshine,
my only sunshine,
you make me happy
when skies are gray.
you'll never know dear
how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away."

you looked up at me with those pouty lips
and let me hold you until you fell back asleep.
Its moments like these that I'm so grateful to be mom
and so grateful that you're mine because you are
My Sunshine!
